My dog loves cheese, but won’t eat it. What can explain his change in appetite?

Note: He does have cancer, and a liver infection. He has recently been given antibiotics for the liver infection, and we’ve been getting him to take the pills by wrapping them in cheese.

He probably knows you’ve pilled the cheese. Try putting his pills into a flat of ham – pill the first piece, and follow it up immediately with a second unpilled piece so he concentrates on getting the second piece and swallows the first.

On the other hand, maybe the medication is making him feel icky. Is he off his food generally, or just the cheese? You may have to get the pills into him by crushing them into his normal food, if he’s eating that. Or wrap it in tinned meat?

Add – Cheese, in moderation, is fine for dogs.

1 in 4 dogs develops cancer.. Why is this?

My sister told me her friend thinks the food we feed our dogs gives them cancer. You know like purina, kibbles and bits, etc. etc. I am thinking there is some truth to it. Dog food just ain’t healthy. My dog doesn’t even like eating that shit. Why do you think dogs go to such extreme conditions to get a piece of real meat? Like digging in the garbage can, or eating a 20Ib roast beef you left on the kitchen table to get home and find that your dog has ate all of it, knowing very well he’s about to get his ass whopped.. I mean do companies make dog food cancerous on purpose? To maybe keep the dog population where it “needs” to be?

admin answers:

Then why are there so many dogs in shelters and rescues? If the dog food companies were doing that they would have so many lawsuits they would be out of business. It is our responsibility to feed our dogs a good food, take them to the vet for regular check ups and watch our dogs for any signs of illness, change in behavior or diet.

Is it alright to eat hot dogs?

I know they have nitrates, and that they cause cancer, but is that only a risk when you eat them extremely frequently? I just got creeped out when I saw an article in today’s paper talking about how they cause cancer. And also, I read that it is more a risk for children under 10. Is this true?

I wasn’t aware that they cause cancer.

Just don’t eat a lot of them.
