Ways to hide pills so a picky dog will eat it?
She just got spayed and needs to take antibiotics. So far she’s been able to spit it out of peanut butter, a hot dog, rice with chicken broth stirred in, and some turkey lunch meat. She’s too good at seeing through my tricks…
Any new tricks for me / Any other suggestions on how to get her to eat the pill without me forcing it down her gullet? She’s already pretty traumatized from the whole surgery thing.

Lol well you will have to keep trying I know my little guy towards the end of his life was on 5 different kinds of pills and I had to be creative too. First thing Don’t let them see what your doing . There smart they will catch on soon what a bottle of pills looks like and what your putting it into.
Naturally they will follow you into the kitchen but make like your keeping busy putting away dishes and such. Then when you head for the fridge bring out the cheese and the hotdog or what ever else you want to put it into. ( peanut butter is good one also you chose) the trick is to let him eat a few pieces of the cheese with nothing in it at all. Even take a piece and let him see you eat it say yum yum give him 2 to 3 pieces first he will check it all out first sniff away lick then once he knows its good he will eat it. So by the fourth cut of cheese this time you hide it inside ,,, if its peanut butter even easier. Give him pieces of your finger again letting him check you out as he knows what your up to and once he gets a good taste going in his mouth and looks like he can’t wait for more give him another one just peanut butter then while he’s licking that up be quick to slip the real pill in the peanut butter a bigger chunk of the peanut butter this time so he doesnt’ lick it off and down the hatch it goes praise him while he’s taking in the big chunk he’ll have to ,as its not as small as the others pet him saying what a good boy make like nothings changed. And you’ll do alright. Worked everytime with my guy and he was smarttttttttt!!!

Does anyone have any ideas on how to get your dog to eat a gross pill or what food to put it in?

You can try putting the pill in a piece of cheese, or in some liver sausage.
If you’ve got a dog who finds pills hidden in food, just tilt the dog’s head up, put the pill as far back in its mouth as you can, and gently massage the throat – that encourages the dog to swallow. It really isn’t hard to do.

I need something to wrap a dog pill in so my dog will eat it?
I’ve tried putting it on top of a little doggy treat but it’s hit and miss and usually he just ends up spitting out the treat. I figure I need something that I can completely wrap the pill up in so he can’t spit it out, as well as something to delicious that he’ll swallow it before even noticing the pill.
I am thinking about just getting some soft dog food and making little pill balls but is there something better I could do. What about bread? Little bread balls with a pill in them? Would that upset my dogs tummy too much?

The foods that have always worked best for me in order:
1. Peanut Butter -get a cheap generic just for the dogs. Fill half of a small spoon, insert the pill and they’ll lick it right off the spoon.
2. Cheese – I like sliced because you can mold it around pill
3. Hotdogs – Mine got wise to this and learned how to eat the hotdog and leave the pill!
