Is there a way I can train dogs without a dog?
Hey there, so I’m 15 years old, I’ve loved dogs ever since I was little, I’ve read books, I’ve watched dog TV shows and videos on how to train, and I’d love to be able to train a dog. Is there anyway I can assist people with trainign their dogs or train dogs without having my own dog? Any ideas would be appreicated.

Contact your local humane society, and sign up to be a volunteer. The best plan is to get your hands on as many dogs as possible, so you learn how they all learn.
If you can, I’d also recommend that you take a dog training class, and borrow a dog to take to class from a friend or relative. You need to go through the process so you understand it. It’s hands-on. I can explain to you how to drive a car, but you’ll need to actually DO it to learn, right?
So, call the shelters and get involved volunteering, and look around for a dog to take to classes. Neighbors, friends, relatives– doesn’t matter. All you really need is to get a dog and take it to classes.
Check out the Association of Pet Dog Trainers website. There are resource there for learning about becoming a dog trainer.

If you really want to be a dog trainer, just be persistent. Nobody will be able to stop you if it’s something that you really want. Go for it!

Can you train your dog to pick up his own poop?
I’m sick of doing it and sick of smelling it. I googled “how to train dog to pick up own poop” and it showed me a bunch of links to get the dog to stop eating it. That is not the problem I’m having though. He doesn’t want to eat poop because he gets fed well- Cheerios, occasional hot dog piece, yesterday my kid gave him a whole banana and last night my son shared his broccoli.
Anyway, how can I get him to pick up his own poop (without eating it, of course?)

How do i potty train dog that is 5 years old so that he will only go to the bathroom outside?
