Rice and scrambled eggs will not give him the necessary nutrition he needs for 2 weeks. A diet like that is good for diarrhea, but no longer than 3 days at most. Also, it does require a bit of chewing which he probably isn’t up to doing right now.

Take a regular portion size of whatever food he eats, kibble, canned, etc. And put it in a blender. Add about half as much hot water as kibble/canned food and blend it into a puree. Usually dogs love this kinda stuff, the hot water will make it warm and bring out the flavors and smells of the food. This works for my puppies, it is palatable and basically like tomato soup. If you don’t have a blender or would rather not use a blender for it (mmm, dog food flavored smoothie!) you can soak the kibble in hot water and mash it up until it’s like mashed potatos.

If he does not eat in 2 days, as in no more than a tablespoon or so of food per day, you may need to make some chicken broth with a pinch of sugar and some melted butter in it and squirt about 2 1/2 tbsp of it down his throat. It will tide him over for the rest of the day and replenish any salts, water, or fats he missed out on when he refused to eat.

This is about the only time ever that it’s good that he’s overweight. If he loses a bit of weight over the next 2 weeks it won’t be as hard on him as it would be other dogs. As long as he eats a small amount of good food, he will be okay.

My first question would be, has she always been this way or has she just recently started not eating? If she just started, have there been any major changes in your/her life? Examples: marriage, babies, new house, change in work schedule… All these things can effect a dog’s eating habits.
If it’s been going on since you got her… My personal experience is that dogs will eat when they’re hungry. I used to try to feed my shih-tzu at certain times each day & I also went through the same frustrating process of trying all types of dog food & mixing dry/wet food, but he still wouldn’t eat. Now, I just leave a bowl of dry food out for him all day & he picks at it throughout the day. If you try this, make sure to take her out for a walk each day so she can “do her business.” If you’re really concerned, you can take her in to your vet & they can run blood tests & x-rays to make sure she doesn’t have any blockages.

Just take the people food away from her completely. She will eat the dog food instead of starve. She’s just spoiled and holding out for the good stuff. Try mixing a little canned food with the kibble, and you can heat it up a little in the microwave. It’s terrible for her teeth to eat human food.
