How do i get my Dog to eat canned Dog food with pills mixed in with it.?
He is a stuborn chow chow, he was vomiting and I took him to the Vet and she gave me pills and canned food. He normally eats dry food so took get him to eat this Dog food with his pills mixed in is a challange , Does put small bit of chicken in with this wet Dog food help ?

Are you just using the canned food in order to get him to take his pills or do you now have to start feeding him this new canned food?
If he was vomiting and his stomach is upset, does he even have an appetite? If not, I would take him for a walk to improve his appetite.
If it is just the pills, I would get some cheese and a cheese slicer and make thin strips of cheese. Take those and mold them around his pills. You can cut tablets smaller if necessary.
They just need to be a one-gulp size for your dog so he doesn’t try and chew them. This is a pretty painless way to give pills especially if he is stubborn as you say.
If you want him to get him to eat the new food, you might take it and put it on a plate and warm it just slightly in the microwave. If you make him do a trick for it, he may think it is a treat.

MY DOG ate MY BIRTHCONTROL pill HELP !!?
OMG I was taken my birth controll pill and it when I took it out of the pack it droped and my dog ate it before I could take it !!!
Is anything going to happen to her ??!!!
Shes a half pomeranian and shitzu (shes 17 pounds) shes pretty big for a pomeranian !!! PLZ PLZ tell me is anything going to happen to her

Hi there…it’s OK! I laughed when I read your title, it reminds me of the ‘My dog ate my homework’ line but clearly you’re serious.
The normal birth control pill has very low levels of hormones which are taken every day by women. It is unlikely that ONE single pill will hurt your dog even if she is only a little dog of 17 pounds. I am assuming that your pill is the simple oestrogen/progesterone combination (or similar) without any iron. I am also assuming that this is not the high dose ‘morning after pill’.
If you are really worried, ring the vet, or your local poisons line, but please try not to stress too much. Have a read of this site below. Good luck

my dog will NOT eat his pill?!!?
i have to give him a pill twice a day for his arthritis because he is in a lot of pain. the pill is working fantastically…if i can get him to eat it! he goes from sleeping all day to prancing around and being in a “puppy mood”.
it’s a very small pill and so far i have tried it with a cheese it, with peanut butter, in a ball of cheese, on a biscuit with peanut butter and then same thing but with fluff, but he keeps eating all around the pills!!!
i don’t know how else to give it to him! any advice?

I have had a couple of dogs that were like this. I got a medicine syringe and put a water in it. Put the pill in the dogs mouth then immediately squirt the water from the syringe in his mouth. They usually then swallow the pill with the water.
