Your Questions About [get Your Dog To Eat]

Ruth asks…

Can my puppy eat table food?

I have an 11 week-old Cockapoo and he has been eating his dog food regularly until I gave him some bread. Now he doesn’t want to eat his dog food and he wants table food. What should I do?

Can he even eat table food, because if he can than I will just give him dinner scraps and not that cancer-giving sickening dog food.

In other words: can my 11 week old cockapoo eat human food without getting sick?

It would most likely be best if you stuck to the regular puppy chow until you pup is eating it on a regular basis again. However, throwing your dog a scrap now and then can’t hurt him that much. Giving him table scraps every night can cause your dog to gain weight so just make sure to not make it a habit and always take him out to play, hope I helped :)

I’ve had this problem loads of times. Have you tried putting warm water on his food and soak it a bit. You could try feeding a puppy food, like chudleys puppy. If theres a b & m bargains near you they sell this dogfood for active dogs. It’s in white 2kg bags. It’s £2, if you buy it any where else it’s 12pound a bag. Top quality food and really good. Thats what i feed my terrier and lurcher to keep weight on them. You could also buy him some meat scraps from the butchers. Really cheap and healthy for him. And boil it up and pour the stock and some meat on his dog food. Hope this helps.

Laura asks…

My Dog Has Cancer And I have A Question?

Well around Easter around or so my Pitbull(Who is almost 11) named Bandit started to act a bit strange and not eat his food. I did not think to much but a couple days passed and I took him to the vet. The vet stated that he likely has cancer. So they ran a few tests and nothing came up, he stated he has had cells that were damaged. So the vet stated you can put him through chemo or put him on steroids and antibiotics. I decided the steroids and antibiotics. A few days later passed and he started to eat his food, and was coming around and everything seemed fine. But a week ago or so I found him lying outside and called him but he did not come over, so I called him again and he was staggering all over the place. So I picked him up and brought him home. He stopped eating his solid dog food and caned foods. I called the vet he stated fed him boiled burgers and hot dogs with rice and etc. Which he eats and drinks tons of water. But he has gotten so weak in the last week or so but still eats, he can walk but barely, he limps. I can not bare the thought of taking him to the vet to put him down and my family feels the same way. So should I let him eat and drink and just let him die on his own? Or what should I do?
Thank you to everybody with the responses. I think I will have to get my older brother or sister to take him. I always knew when I got him as a pup which I was 14 or so he would likely die in my mid 20′s. I thought I would be able to “man up” and deal with it but it is very hard. I have finals in my masters program and I can not think straight. I think it is time.
Well I decided to have my dog put down and went through with it. Went with my brother and mother and I have to tell you it was the hardest thing I had to ever do. Saying goodbye to him was horrible. Then after he was put down the doc asked me if I wanted to see him and I did. He looked like he was in peace, he still had his eye open and gave him one last kiss. A big part of my life is gone now, and I will never get another dog again. It will never replace him if it ever did I never want to go through this again. Thank you again everybody.

I know its hard but your dog has only shown you love and kindness all his life, he would do anything for you and your family so now its your turn. He needs to be put to sleep. He deserves better than to suffer and die as a result of starvation and dehydration. I know its hard, we put down my 15 year old dog two weeks ago, and yes its hard but he was a good dog, had a good life, and did not deserve to suffer. Your dog does not deserve to suffer either. Please let him go in peace without pain. If you need support just add me to your contacts and I will try to help you through it through email and such. I am so sorry for your loss but you really must do the humane thing and let him go by putting him to sleep.
