Your Questions About [get Your Dog To Eat]

Nancy asks…

How tough is living in the real world?

Im in college right now and have heard a lot about the “real” world. Living in the US, is it adog eat dog” world out there? I keep trying to get into the mind-set of the world as a place where you truly have to work hard to be successful because I know its true. However, im still having difficulty grasping that fact probably because im not totally on my own yet. Im trying to get some insight on how living by yourself where there isn’t necessarily someone to back you up if you start going down is like.

The real world can be a very hard place to live. You need to be street smart and know how to handle yourself. Just be honest with yourself and don’t trust everyone.

How can I stop the cat from eating the dog food?

Normal cats and dogs eat like pigs. If given the chance, they’ll eat a whole bag of cat/dog food in two seconds (not literally, of course), which is why you have to give cats and dogs a set time to eat, and take away their food bowl when their meal is done. But my dog is different. She’s a dainty little eater. We leave her food bowl out all day long so that she can eat whenever she wants. Don’t worry, she’s not fat, she has a healthy weight. But my cat is not like my dog. He’s normal so he eats like a pig, so to make sure he doesn’t get fat I have to give him set feeding times and take away his food bowl when his meal is done, problem is, when I take away his food bowl, he just goes to my dog‘s food bowl and eats out of that. I already told you why I can’t take my dog‘s food bowl away. How can I stop the cat from eating the dog food?

My dog is a three year old Pomchi, female
My cat is a one year old Snowshoe, male

Try letting your dog go a little hungry. What I mean is give both animals a chance to eat, then put up both food bowls for a few hours. Offer them both food again after a few hours. After a couple of days of this, both will figure out that they better ‘get while the gettin’s good’. Your dog will suffer only temporarily, & then figure it out. But your cat will not be hurt if he eats some dog food. Just feed them in different rooms. Try it & see how it works.

Robert asks…

Dog ate human poop will he die?

We have a puppy, a big puppy! Still completely curious at the world, yet able to get into almost anything. The toilet clogged, and the water almost entirely drained. My guy turns from the bathroom for one second to shout out the door, “Hun, do you know how to unclog this?” In that split moment, the puppy rushed in, sniffed once and plugged his head into the pot, racing out at our angery voices. Then we both looked down in horror at a turb with a bite taken out of it. We both pinned her down and to my digust I pried his mouth open, too late.

What should we do. Should we take the dog to the vet, let him eat alot of grass and water, or just wait it out. Do dogs die from his kind of stuff?

admin answers:
