Your Questions About [get Your Dog To Eat]

Joseph asks…
how sick is my dog going to get?
I let my dog go out to the bathroom, And my neighbors must have droped a turkey on the ground from when they went grocery shoping and forgot about it because there dumb, And then someone else ran it over. Neways, My dog went outside, and started eating it and wouldnt stop when i was telling her not too. So by the time I got to her Im not sure how much she ate of it.
will this make her sick? And How dangerous is it for her to eat raw turkey?

admin answers:
If she ingested any bones she could suffer an intestinal obstruction. The raw meat will not bother her… It is the bones you need to worry about.
If your dog starts to vomit, has a lack of appetite, or is lethargic… Time to get her to the vet asap, ok??

Steven asks…
it this normal and safe for a dog/pup to eat grass?
i noticed that our 9 month old pups poop is green so i was sort of concerned.I clean her poop everyday so i observes these things. To be on the safe side i did call my vet and they said to observe her and watch her closely, which ive been doing. When i went outside to keep an eye on her,we was eating grass, guess thats how she got green poop. Will eating grass harm a dogs insides or anything like that?I feel like an idiot calling the vet,but better safe than sorry right?I know i cant stop my pup from eating grass.Just that ive never seen any dog or pup eat grass.Shes not sick at all just green poop. Thanks all.

Dogs commonly eat grass, and there are several explanations that have been offered for this behavior. One, wild canids (e.g., wolves and fox) eat all of an animal when they catch it. Since they eat many herbivores (plant-eating animals), they end up eating a lot of grasses and plants that were in the intestines of these animals. In addition, they have been known to eat certain berries and other plant material. Dogs then, may eat grass because, in reality, it is a normal part of their diet.
Many times, dogs will vomit after eating grass. Did they eat grass to make them vomit? Or did they vomit because they ate grass? It is a mystery, but it seems that some dogs may eat vegetation when they have an upset stomach.
The third reason – they just like it. Some dogs have certain species of grass or plant material that they will search out and eat. We know a beagle who can pick raspberries faster than his owner.
In any case, grass eating is basically a normal behavior, and is not of concern unless your dog does it excessively.

Betty asks…
in need of help about my dog?
we just got our dog 4-5 days ago from a high kill shelter in delano. since then ive noticed the area around her vagina is baggy and her nipples are enlarged. she hasnt been eating her food and she is less independent. our other dog who is only 4 months plays with her, but im not sure she plays too. is being protective of her pouch? i want to kno how many she is, well the approx. what do i do? i dont know if ther any babies inside since ive felt her tummy. ive read that pregnant dog eat more, but mine doesnt. how can make her eat. i think she is also sick because she has developed a cough, like you would when you have phlegm in your throat. i really just want her to get better.

I would get to the vet. Some shelters are pretty lacking in medical care for their animals, especially high kill. She could be in heat if they did not spay, or she could be pregnant. This dog should be seen by a medical professional.
