Your Questions About [get Your Dog To Eat]

Sandra asks…
Does anyone know how to make homemade dog food for a big shepherd?
I want to stop feeding her pet food from the store. I’ve been told not to feed dogs just anything from the table. What do you think? Thanks

admin answers:
You need to spend A LOT of time researching B.A.R.F. Diets and raw foods diets. And when I say a lot, I mean it. If you aren’t correct in your proportions and variety, your dog could die.
Instead of stopping store bought pet food, why not just upgrade to a brand that isn’t having these problems? Something high quality like Natural Balance or Evo? Natural Balance is NOT associated with Menu Foods at all. Http://naturalbalanceinc.com/
Natural Balance also has a pre-assembled raw diet that may be a good option for you: http://naturalbalanceinc.com/dogformulas/RAW.html
Good luck to you! : )

Richard asks…
What are some kinds of homemade dog food/treats I can make?
I’m 14 years old, and getting ingredients wouldn’t be that difficult.
My dog, Stevie, is 7 or 8 years old he’s a German Sheperd/Lab mix – if it matters. Recipe links would be appreciated. Thanks ![]()
Thanks for the great ideas and links!

Joseph asks…
I wanna make homemade dog food?
I’m getting two Alaskan Malamute puppies and I was wondering if I feed them homemade dog food, what ingredients do I use and what should I not use?(fruits included), What organ meats should I use and from what animals? (no pork please), and should I use chicken broth or gravy? I don’t want spammers, I want serious people that know what they’re talking about. Need facts not fiction.

Here are some links. You need to do whole prey, raw feeding, not “homemade” with lots of grinding and adding stuff. Dogs are carnivores….they need meat, bones and organs. Thats it. Keep it simple.

You should also join rawfeeding and rawchat on yahoo groups.
You will find the answers to all your questions on the above mention lists and the links….but if you need more info, feel free to email me.
And…dont discount pork… Its a very healthy meat for dogs and part of a good diet. Mine love pork neck bones, pork chops, pork hearts, and organs, etc.
