Mary asks…
Dog park food poisoning concern?
I was at the dog park in ny and a lady informed me wit her dog a police came by to tell her that someone is dropping giving poisoned food in dog parks , which worries me tons and i wont go to dog parks for awhile. The lady also said she saw a strange greenish food on a plate and she threw it out.
But has anyone else heard about this , it doesn’t have to be the new york area it can be anywhere and do you have any tips because my dog puts anything into his mouth .
i know there not great ideas but living in a urban area is hard because either your backyard is too small or either you got none.so really no choice.

Some people are sick. My aunt used to have a dog. One of his parents was a Dog-Wolf hybrid, so some people were saying he was a “wild animal” and should be put down. My aunt took him in and took very good care of him. He was very well trained and was never aggressive. One day he was randomly dead in the backyard. It was proven he was poisoned but they didn’t know how. My aunt is convinced someone slipped poisoned food under the fence and killed him because there was no poison in the yard (they had a very small, plain yard) and they were all afraid of him.
I also heard a story about poisoned food in a park. They were aiming for dogs but good thing no animal (or child that might have picked it up) was injured.
I would take your dog to a normal park that allows dogs to walk there. The sick dog-killer will probably be aiming for dog parks not normal ones. I would walk your dog on pavement along with the grass(pavement helps grind down nails and you can see what is on the ground.). Better to be safe than sorry.
