How do u train a dog to play fetch?
I need full details cuz im 14 and i need the right ways so i dont screw it up? I want to know everything about how to train dogs (how to like make them not poop in DA house) plz i need the help

OK – as previously mentioned there are online ways to learn to train your dog. I started with googling training commands and teaching them at home and then took my dog to obedience training in a class room. Which, he and I both love.
To teach him to play fetch, start with sitting on the ground and gently rolling the ball. When you roll the ball to him, say ball, get the ball. Once he gets the ball tell him “drop it” and take the ball out of his mouth and place on ground and say “good drop it”. Repeat this several times. As he gets better, move farther and farther away from him.
Good luck and have fun!

How do you train a dog to not run away when he is off his leash?
I have a 2 yr. old dog. He is a Lab/ Bull Mastiff. I have been working with him, teaching him how to sit, lay and come. He is doing very well. We are now working on sit and stay.
I am just curious…what tricks do I use to teach him to stay put when I take his leash of in the yard? I know trained dogs can perform this trick well. Any pointers. I would love for my dog to be able to step outside or be able to open my door to get my mail and not be worried about him bolting off. It has happened a couple times. Usually he does not go far…just on the street. But he sends us on a goose hunt for him. Sort of like we are chasing him. Like it is a “GAME”. I sometimes think it is. The closer I walk to him the more he steps or runs but when I turn away he sort of ventures back…..but not completely.
So what is the trick?
Any advice?

Hi, first of all training a dog is not a trick. You want him to be Obedient and listen to your commands. Tricks are roll over and chase the stick.
One of the biggest problems I found when training dog owners in come is they have yelled and screamed at them to come and finally when their dog does come, they correct them.
That’s very wrong. Come has to be a happy command, you want your dog to come, so every time he comes even though it may take awhile, always praise him. Your working with a fairly large Breed of dog. You don’t want he to get loose and get hit by a car, so try your best to make the come command as exciting as you can so if he heads for the street sometime and he hears you Say come.. He would turn around and come.
Hope this helps

How to train dog to go up Dog steps?
I have a Shih Tzu, female, and she has doggy steps, she went climbed them two or three times but with a toy on the top steps, is there any way to train her so that she will climb up the steps on her own will?

admin answers:
Why would any dog have to be trained to climb steps? They are just steps, put her on a leash and take her up one step at a time if she feels uncomfortable for some reason..and I cannot imagine one.
Forget toys and food, she needs to climb up there when you tell her or when she needs to, if that is how they are set up, regardless of any toys or food.
