Your Questions About [get Your Dog To Eat]

Laura asks…

How to train my dog not to bite ?

I just got a new dog, and hes starting to nip and bite. Like when me and my sis or friends are messing around and playing, or even when anyone tries to like even just touch me he will try to bite them. I dunno if he is just playing around or if he would actually bite someone. I want to get him to stop while it is good that he protects me. I want to train him not to bite anyone of my friends family or people we know but yet at same time still be protective of us like if there was a break in. Anyone know how I could train him ?

The ear bite method does work, but just as a note dogs will listen to u with a trainer because trainers dont train dogs they train u to train ur dog so a trainer could help too. For my dogs ive always just pop them in those nose if they bite or alpha rll them and grow in their faces and bite their ears and neck if their real bad. But i teach other to yelp and then ignore the dog to stop the same behavior it works but takes longer so theres a choice. Also no need to worry about the dog still being protective dogs r very good body laungue readers and burgalrs act very different from normal ppl ur dog will still attack and protect u

Betty asks…

how do you train a dog not to bite?

admin answers:

First it depends on what kind of biting. If it’s a puppy and it’s a play bite, just grab his muzzle for about 10 seconds and say “NO!!” in a loud stern voice. Do this every single time he bites. Be consistant.

If your dog is aggressive and bearing it’s teeth and snapping at you aggressively, it needs to be dealt with more seriously. It’s safer to correct your dog when he’s on a leash, but if our dogs bite aggressively, I give them hell & beat them (reasonably). Aggressiveness should never be tolerated and could mean a lawsuit down the road if not taken care of. You need to let your dog know that you are in charge and not them…
